Exceeded Expectations Feb 11, 2008 I was a little skeptical about these shelves when I bought them but they've turned out really well. The metal is thicker than you would think so they look and feel very sturdy. I only put five or six books on them but my guess is that they could hold much more. Very satisfied with these.

Stylish, innovative, and practical Nov 07, 2007 I attached my own pictures in the "customer images."
I got 4 large and 4 small ones altogether. And if you know how to drill, then it'd be a piece of cake to put/mount it onto the wall.
I put a few up in my small living room next to my TV and a IKEA wall-shelf. It looks great and it does hold up a lot. But how much does it hold up? That also depends on your books.
One tip: To know when to stop piling more books on, use your hand and push down from the top a little bit. If it starts to shake and feels quite heavy, it is time to stop and leave it at that.

Multi-purpose May 14, 2007 You can use these anywhere, on any wall, with nearly any book. Also, you can set a picture frame or other decoration on the top book for a little extra pizazz... easy to install, use several to form a collection on a wall. Works best when bottom book is a hard back. Super easy to install.

Umbra Invisible Bookshelf Apr 11, 2007 This is a great product. I bought it at Linens-n-Things for $9.95. Why is it three-dollars more here?

My books are floating?!?!?! Feb 10, 2007 These shelves are a clever idea - books appear to be floating on your wall. As one can see from the picture on this product page, the back cover of the bottom book fits into a small groove. With other books placed on top, the bottom book is held securely in place. I installed several of these shelves in my kitchen for cookbooks. They work best for relatively light, narrow books (the shelf started to strain a bit under "The Joy of Cooking"). However, only the bottom book needs to be hard back.
Installation was extremely easy -- just screw the shelf into any wall normal wall (e.g., drywall, paneling). No anchors are needed. I was a bit skeptical at first and expected for the books to fall or the shelf to bend, but no accidents after over a week. All in all, these shelves work well and are an interesting way to display your books. I just think that they should be a bit less expensive, as they're basically metal brackets; hence the four stars.
